Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac recently introduced a new $2,500 credit for qualifying borrowers to use towards down payment and closing costs, and Ameris Bank is proud to be a participating lender to offer this credit effective immediately.
To be eligible for the credit, borrowers must utilize a Fannie Mae HomeReady® or Freddie Mac Home Possible® mortgage and have a qualifying income of less than or equal to 50% of the applicable area median income (AMI) of the subject property's location.
In addition, this credit is available with the Ameris Down Payment Grant Program, meaning an eligible borrower could receive up to $15,000 for down payment and closing cost assistance.
This credit is available for loans closing on or before January 1, 2025.
